One of the most critical components of NetSuite ERP is its dashboards. This is because they enable each employee to immediately access the most critical information. Oracle NetSuite dashboard customization is essential for maintaining corporate integrity, as it provides managers and professionals with personalized, timely, and accurate data.

Dashboards could act as the most powerful tools in order to keep employees motivated and focused on those goals. Your employees can do that if they have ample training in NetSuite. Although every employee dashboard looks different, you can refer to a few standard elements that need to be included for the visualizations to be successful. So, keeping these things in mind, let us see all the different components of the NetSuite dashboard.

What is a NetSuite dashboard?

Home Dashboard in NetSuite: A home dashboard within the context of NetSuite is a compilation of tabbed pages from the user interface. This means a home page and documents built specifically for you based on your role in NetSuite. Portlets dynamically present the information on your dashboard. This grants you seamless entry into reports, trend graphs, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), chart-based spreadsheets, and unprocessed data.

You have the option of creating your own dashboard to access the data necessary to complete your duties. For each user, NetSuite provides segmented pages, known as the center. The center should be organized according to the user’s occupation. It comprises the pages and connections that administrators require to execute their daily responsibilities. Most pages in each center display a compilation of real-time data relevant to the page the user is currently on.

The dashboard is accessible on all pages of NetSuite, with the exception of documents, setup, and customization pages. View your organization’s overall picture in real time and edit data rapidly to make better, quicker, and more accurate decisions.

NetSuite equips each page with a fundamental dashboard configuration that users can customize to suit their needs. Customization of dashboards for one or more pages is permissible for administrators. They can distribute them to a group of users to ensure a consistent interface.

What is the NetSuite Home icon?

You can always access the main dashboard by selecting the home symbol. This would give you access to more NetSuite dashboards, like the one customers get that shows data. Roles of a NetSuite Dashboard

One of the most effective methods for organizing your NetSuite dashboard is to make it role-based. These personal objectives ought to correspond with the organization’s objectives.

It allows for extending and customizing the NetSuite dashboards. On the Netsuite dashboard, we have a company overview as well as a report summary and trend graphs using our Portlet plug-in.

You may add something like a portlet (a visual plug-in) to your NetSuite dashboard and customize it for you, as long as it displays the data that is surrounding it.

It offers a concise summary of your organization, and the portlet options enable you to personalize your viewpoint. The Personalize Dashboard panel displays the categories that you wish to include in your dashboard. You can incorporate them into Standard Content, Custom Portlets, Report Snapshots, and Trend Graphs. The “Currently Used” tab displays the portlets that are in use.

This instrument enables users to rapidly search for and view reports and other business-related KPIs.

What is a custom portlet?

Standard and custom KPIs and out-of-the-box NetSuite capabilities aren’t always enough. NetSuite necessitates the direct acquisition and delivery of external corporate data. This necessitates the development of custom functionality that NetSuite does not offer by default.

By offering ‘Custom Portlets’, NetSuite facilitates the customization of the NetSuite Dashboard. On the NetSuite Dashboard, you can quickly install these SuiteScript scripts.

In NetSuite, there are seven pre-built Portlet options. You have the option to incorporate custom portlets into your dashboard.

  • KPI Meter

This portlet depicts a semi-circular meter. It includes a visual representation of KPI data as well as a comparison, date range, and threshold values. A NetSuite dashboard customization can incorporate up to three KPI Meter portlets. Each meter graphically represents the data for one of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) displayed in the dashboard’s Key Performance Indicators portlet. Both the currency symbol and the data values are visible.

Each KPI meter in the KPI portlet displays graphics that correspond to KPI data. This pertains to a single date range, two date periods, or an indicated threshold sum. The NetSuite dashboard allows you to display up to three Key Performance Indicator meter portlets. KPI options for a meter include Actual versus Forecast, Forecast versus Quote, or Alternative Sales, as well as Actual versus Quote. You can download the KPI results in PNG, JPEG, or SVG format and print them as well.

  • Scorecard for Key Performance Indicators

This portlet demonstrates a performance scorecard that offers detailed comparisons of a variety of key performance indicators (KPIs) across a broad spectrum of accounting or time periods. You can also incorporate Excel-like formulas with KPIs and functions into the data presentation of scorecards.

NetSuite offers an exceptional pre-built tool, the Financial Ratio Scorecard, for evaluating the financial status and operational performance of your organization. We have generated this scorecard using integrated formulas based on common NetSuite KPIs (KPIs).

  • KPI

Companies implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track their progress towards their objectives. In practice, we create, disseminate, and monitor KPIs over a period of time that aligns with the underlying objective.

We frequently assess KPIs at regular intervals to determine whether course adjustments are necessary. During this procedure, you may want to reconsider your KPI selection. You may renew, modify, or terminate certain key performance indicators (KPIs) after achieving a target. Employers frequently use key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine employee recognition, growth, and financial incentives.

The summary of key business measures in a report includes cached searches, such as date ranges, comparisons, and outcomes that fail to meet expectations. The stored search can display the results of up to 10 custom KPIs.

  • Graphs of Trends

Your business managers have the option to display their trend graph data in a variety of formats, including area, line, bar, and column charts. You can implement thumbnails to determine the timeframe for your data. Remember, you can only access comparisons if you set the period to either monthly or quarterly. You can export the results to CSV format and download the chart images as PNG, JPG, PDF, or SVG files.

Instructions for Publishing a NetSuite Dashboard

Before publishing a dashboard, create one that aligns with the positions’ center types. Once your organization has customized the dashboard, choose “settings” and then “publish.” The subsequent phase involves the input of the dashboard’s name, notes, and special shortcut locks. To publish a dashboard to its designated responsibilities, click “save.”

Any administrator has the option to publish a dashboard in either unrestricted mode, locked mode, or add/move content mode. The one mode that has no limitations is Unlock All in the dashboard. Locking down the dashboard will stop your end-user administrator from being able to make any changes. In add/move mode, a user has the ability to move items around or add things to their login page but cannot delete anything.
